Rye will always be home for Eric. Even though we moved across the state line, he continued to work in Rye six days a week at his family’s business, Fong’s Cleaners. It never truly felt like he left the town. Sadly, that chapter came to a close last year when the business closed as Eric’s health continued to decline.

Recently, Rye has found its way back to us in a meaningful way. Sydney, a reporter from the Rye Record, reached out to speak with both Eric and me about his search for a kidney donor, what led us to open up and ask for help, and how our community has been supporting us through this journey.
